A seamless journey from wall selection to route creation in under 1 minute
Step 1: Find Your Wall
Start your route creation journey in the "Find Route" screen. Browse through your gym's sections and walls with intuitive filtering. See existing routes on each wall to identify the perfect spot for your new creation. When you've found the right wall, simply tap "Add Route to Selected Wall" to begin.
Step 2: Tag Routesetter (Optional)
You're instantly taken to the Add Route screen, pre-configured for your selected wall. First, optionally tag yourself or another routesetter to give proper credit. The app can auto-select your routesetter profile if you have one, or you can search for other setters. This builds community recognition and helps climbers discover routes by their favorite setters.
Step 3: Select Grade & Route Type
Choose the route type (boulder, lead, top-rope, auto-belay) and select the appropriate grade. The grade system matches your gym's preferences, and the interface makes it quick to find the right difficulty level. You can also mark routes as beginner-friendly to help new climbers find suitable challenges.
Step 4: Add Route Photos
Document your route with two essential photos: starting holds and the full route. Tap the camera icons to launch your phone's camera directly from the app, or choose from your photo library. The app provides helpful guidance on taking clear photos that help climbers understand the route.
Step 5: Review Your Photos
Once you've captured both photos, review them to ensure they clearly show the route. The starting holds photo helps climbers identify where to begin, while the full route photo gives them the complete picture. You can retake photos if needed before finalizing your route.
Step 6: Route Successfully Created!
Hit "Save" and your route is instantly live in the app! Members can immediately discover, attempt, and provide feedback on your creation. The entire process from wall selection to published route takes under 1 minute - often just seconds - making route documentation effortless for busy gym staff and routesetters.
